A rich "gem" color Kashmir sapphire ring with
old European cut diamond shoulders in platinum.
This classic Kashmir sapphire crystal is 85% tone
with very good brilliance.
The stone is light to moderate in texture showcasing the
vivid "Peacock Neck" KashmirBlue color with
the distinct but suttle silky texture sought after in
Kashmir stones. The stones deep pavilion is characteristic
of old stones although it creates a slightly smaller 2ct
stone face. The stone shows faint color zoning. The stone
is lightly included (LI2) with no eye visible inclusions.
Viewed with microscope at 50x magnification: The
identifying internal inclusions show classic zones of
alternating turbity with rich Kashmir color. The key feature
distinguishing this stone from other origins are the wispy
streaks of silk not seen in any other locale. This stone
is easily identified as Kashmir origin.
The platinum ring holds two old European cut diamonds
with VS clarity weighing approximately 1.25 cts total
weight. An extremely unique and rare find. Excellent for
any connoiseur or gem collectors investment portfolio.
