Sapphire from Kashmir are the most difficult to manufacture in the world. This Kashmir rough with a dark outer skin surprised us.
This stone appeared to have a low value until we cut a window and observed down the C-axis. The 'hidden gem' was literally on the inside.
My former cutting teacher who would say 'it's rarely a good surprise in cutting rough' would be happy to see this piece.
